and it was PACKED! Every outdoor dining space was full, every restaurant and bar was full. People everywhere. Washington Square Park was packed. Shows going on. Everyone around the water fountain enjoying the beautiful day. They were even charging cover at places with live music. It felt pre-COVID. Some friends of mine and I went bar hopping.

It does seem the "no more mask needed outside" has really made a difference. Everyone was in high spirits. And starting tomorrow we can sit at the bar again!

Yeah, isn't it just incredible to see New York City coming back so absolutely strong again?

There is definitely "a sense of fear" that has been lifted now, and tons of people are coming out and about. Everyone seems much more relaxed and at more of an ease.

In Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill and Brooklyn Heights areas, the streets have been more vibrant in the past 2 or 3 weeks than I've seen them since pre-Covid.

NYC has definitely turned the corner and people are back in full force. With the city fully opening 100% on July 1, I think the summer will be pretty lit.

HUGE improvement over last year but I think we're still a month or two away before it actually feels back to normal
Having to put on a mask just to walk through any indoor area still does not feel normal either.

Its also nice being able to grab a beer without having to order food. That rule was so easy to get around anyway. Bars I go to would sell a "Cuomo Special". Literally a piece of white bread for $1 to conform to the law. Then you can drink all day. lol.

Yeah enforcement was 50/50 on that but now you don't have to worry about that at all which is great.

Starting tomorrow, you can even sit at the bar again

There is a place near me that sells an awesome massive hot jumbo pretzel. I sometimes get one. But if I just want a beer or two I used the $1 bread every time. Just left it for the birds.

That rule was dumb. A few months ago we were outside a wine bar on Atlantic Ave, " Bacchus ". Just wanted to have a glass of wine with the Mrs. They said we would have to order a meal. So we left cause their kitchen was closing soon. Nice place btw, geezus wine ranges from 12 dollars a glass but they have bottles that cost a grand. Boy am I poor
