Surfing a 50 meter tall wave could be interesting.

Still happening. Getting small landslides on the coast of the island. Everyone still saying no danger of massive landslide that could cause the megatsunami.

Boots on the ground observer video.

Well, here we are. Might be good to think twice about the sources that got anyone riled up about this.

I think we all saw the videos of the Indonesian quake and the Fukushima tsunamis both putting a lie to that concept, which I shared, that a tsunami was something like a huge wave, Like the Hawaiian surfing waves (Waimea??) but really it is a slow and steady incoming of water that builds relentlessly to flooding depth, almost without perceptible big waves.

In any case, I think I am high enough on Carnegie Hill to dismiss any real risk of flood, except perhaps from some dimwit above me.

I think our biggest annihilation risk today is nuclear holocaust, as it has been my whole lifetime, but worse with an escalating war in Eastern Europe.

Yes, KK, I always thought a tsunami meant a giant wave rolling in, but after seeing videos, it's constant low waves pushing the water up into the land. Almost lazily. My townhouse complex is six miles inland from the Jersey shore, so it might all work out. I could find myself having beachfront property!
