Put in your zip code, the AQ in my neighborhood is "Unhealthy" but bordering on "Very Unhealthy" now.***

I was out for an hour last evening & ended up coughing towards the end & later. Wearing the leftover N95 mask when I head out later.

*** ETA: By 1:30 the nabe is now well into "Very Unhealthy" air quality

Is breathing this for 4 hours the same as breathing regular NYC air for 12 hours? Trying to understand if this is typical media dramatization or a real issue to avoid?

Even I’m wearing a mask. I’m on Staten Island now. It’s gotten progressively worse over the last 30 minutes. There’s ash on my car.

Sky is dark as night and ash is falling! It's end of the world!

I was in NYC all day yesterday and only started smelling smoke around 6pm. Earlier in the day, the air seemed perfectly fine to me.
These toxins are in fact dangerous if constantly exposed as New Delhi is

Is this what it's like to live in China?

My son asked if a bomb went off outside as everything has an orange tint.

We should sue Canada. This is what happens when you don't take preventative measures against wildfires.

Break out that Covid N95 mask you never used. It’ll block the worst of it. Regular surgical mask if you don’t have the N95 works well too. And if your eyes are sensible, wear goggles. Hope this will be over soon
