Don't know anyone in particular but rule of thumb is that Hospital for Special Surgery is the best. I also have bad back/neck issues but haven't pulled the trigger.

I've heard amazing things about Hospital for Special Surgery. Unfornuately I don't think my terrible health insurance would cover anything there.
My Sister in law had gone to "Hospital for Special Surgery", and it is the best hospital for back surgeries.
google it, and do your homework, any back type of surgery is nothing to take lightly.
