Speed Cameras installed on highways near construction sites. *Currently in pilot*

You know it's coming, 1st speed cameras in school zones that only runs 7am - 4pm Monday to Fridays then became 24/7.

Now they have cameras testing along highways.

No complaints as long as signs are posted warning of high speed cameras.

We had these in PA for awhile. First offense is a warning, however I doubt NY would be the same.

Hopefully they take the signs down when they're finished. That's one of the reasons they often get ignored in the first place.

I don't think it's gonna work out very well. Majority of the highways in NYC are heavily congested and you can never hit above the speed limit even if you wanted to without clowns driving 35mph on a 50mph speed limit LIE.

I've driven a lot of highways and it seems more people just drive below the speed limit even when the roads are empty. Too many zombies driving for Uber that can't properly merge or exit the highway. The speed cams are not gonna do much but cause more traffic tieups.

I think one of the reasons they haven't rushed out to do it because the highways are just too congested overall.

Many people don't need signs. There is a perfectly legal app that gives you driving directions and then a voice is heard about some speed trap nearby on the same road. I think it might work detecting these cameras before you go through them in speeds fast enough to get a ticket.
