If you had 2 days to spend in New York (Friday & Saturday) what would be your ideal plan? During this time that is.
I have guests visiting (they've been here before) and I want to plan something adventurous and fun. I thought it would be good to catch a play (maybe roundabout theater), or opera and on a different night visit the Coca-Cola club for live jazz. I love those double decker bus tours, but I think that it's way too cold for that.
For restaurants I thought that it would be great to get some lunch at the Boathouse in Central Park. Eleven Madison would be excellent for dinner. Has anyone been to the Russian Tea Room. Any suggestions for a lunch/brunch place. Getting lunch on Friday is probably a whole different experience since it's not as crowded on the weekends. Which restaurants in your opinion are a must in New York (I'm afraid that they are not a very adventurous middle age couple, so it's American or Italian fair, maybe French but it has have some conventional food).
The Christmas tree viewing is also a great idea. I don't know if it's better to go on a Friday or Saturday.
Anyway, so you guys have 2 full days to spend in New York, what shall you do?

Sorry, to be frank, my suggestions would vary depending on who is footing the bill. The Guests? Me? Dutch?
