Hello,
I grew up in NYC and I am trying to get back there now.
I have lived in the Washington DC area for over 10 years (its driving me crazy) and my biggest concern is finding work in NYC ASAP.
So here are some questions:
1) Do I need to live there first to find work?
I get the feeling that I'm not getting interviews because I'm not there. I'm not sure whether that's true or not.
2) I'm in the IT industry. I have a history of working with companies that have the Federal government as a client. Although that now makes me hot to hire here, it looks like in NYC I need knowledge of a particular industry. Is that true?
3) What can I do before I move to get a job there? That's my bottom line.
Thanks all! Its strange feeling closest to the culture but furthest from the job market.
I'm hoping to get past that!
