Ok I have read through the entire forum, but everyone elses situation seems to have a different twist to it so hear I go.

My friend and I from Pittsburgh are moving to manhattan, we are young professionals with jobs in manhattan. We are looking to get a true 2 br apartment. Preferably we'd like to not live in closets and probably in an area with other young professionals. Access to bars, restaurants, and entertainment would be nice. Low crime would be nice, but I understand how it is.

We are looking to spend somewhere between 2200-2600 with around 2400 being what we are trying to ideally spend (any lower will be nice tho!)

Which neighborhoods in manhattan do you think would be best suited for us? Advice? Comments?

Thanks!

definitely the lower east side and east village and murray hill isn't that expensive but it's a bet sterile, but look uptown too
