This is ridiculous. So this is bloomberg's fault? He is the reason splash gay bar shut down? Or bleeker boy's records? Probably had nothing to do with that whole tape, cd, mp3 digital audio thing, right?

You can make this list every decade for the past 150 years....and blame whoever you want...it's called LIFE. Change happens..unless of course you believe we should still be all speaking German and Dutch and no other businesses should close or open..just the ones that were "originally" here.

Get over it dude...that's life.

^^This. These places closed for a variety of reasons including rent increases, poor management, competition from online sales, or just changing customer tastes. Can't blame it all on Bloomberg by a long shot.

Every living city has businesses and places closing and opening all of the time. New York is a larger place than Pittsburgh, so it has a longer list- but we've have scores of joints closing down since 2001 and we didn't have Bloomberg here at all.

If there was such an award this Jeremiah idiot would win the a**hole of the year award. One of those guys that want all the "charming" graffiti back and p|ss soaked subway trains because that's how you really live life. We need to be broke with bums in the parks or "it's just not the place I know"

Just S.T.F.U. already, move out and add yourself to the list

What would have made this worthwhile would have been a comparison with previous times. Probably quite a bit had to do just with 9/11 fallout, but probably some of the other problems, like rent increases, aren't just a fact of life, but likely a result of Bloomberg.
