I live on a block where many of the homes were built in 1981, are semi-detached, and are identical to others on the block in terms of configuration. The basic differences are that some have finished basemants and the properties on one side of the street have deeper properties by about 30 feet or so yet the value of otherwise identical homes with the shallower properties are valued at $441K and the others with deeper properties are valued at about $420. Some with no garages say in the records they have garages, while fireplaces and other extras don't seem to raise the houses values. Is the only way to get a true valuation is to bring in a realtor?

Reason: punctuation and word change
Your home is worth for whatever a buyer is willing to pay for it. Don't worry about how much the other houses on your block are worth. Nothing is set in stone.
The value of your home is determined by comps: i.e., the price that houses in your area have sold for recently.
If you know the address of a home that sold recently on your block or whatever, do as another poster said and check property shark to see how much it sold for.
