I'm going to be doing some volunteering at senior facilities, and I have a choice of a few in Brooklyn. I live in Carroll Gardens, and it would have been nice to find one closer to my area, but the only ones I was offered were all down south around Coney Island, Manhattan Beach, etc. I'm not too familiar with the area, so I was looking for some advice on which one is in the best general neighborhood as far as safety and convenience from Carroll Gardens. I just want to be sure that I'll be ok walking from the subway stop to the location. So here are the addresses, I'd appreciate any information:

Trump 4 Us
29-42 West Street
Brooklyn NY 11224

Trump TOPS
2915 West 5th Street
Brooklyn 11224

Warbasse Cares for Seniors
2844 Ocean Parkway
Brooklyn NY 11235

Brooklyn Senior Alliance Senior Center
161 Corbin Place
Brooklyn NY 11235

They're all fairly close, although the two best addresses in terms of safety would probably be Ocean Parkway and Corbin Place. The Ocean Parkway address is the more convenient of the two; take the Q train to the Ocean Parkway station, and it's just up the street. To get to Corbin Place, you'd take the B or Q to Brighton Beach, from which station it's a five or six block walk east to Corbin (or you could take the B1 bus coming from Bay Ridge or 86 Street, which will drop you off at the corner of Corbin by West End Avenue).

Those are all located within the same complex facilities more or less near Ocean Parkway/Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn. Predominately Russians. Nice neighborhood. Near the F line and on Brighton Beach the B and Q lines. Buses and little shopping center for food, banking and pharmacy needs.

Good Luck and Have Fun
