Hello, I am going to be entering NYU this Fall quarter with my GF. I need a housing somewhere around $1500 range (if cheaper that is great. I do not want to live too far from my school. It should be less than 15 minutes away from my apartment). I need a one bed room or studio would be fine. Also, my GF needs to start school in NY. She has high school diploma and did some community college back in CA, but didn't do well. She needs to find a 2 year community college in which she can get a financial aid. Also, it would be great if it was around my school. ANY suggestion for housing and community school for her?? Thank you!!!!

You will NOT find a one bedroom for $1500 within 15 minutes of NYU and if you find a studio, it will be tiny and probably outdated. Most people in your situation rent a room, even if they are moving with an SO. You'll probably be looking at a minimum half hour commute if you want your own place. NYU is in a very desirable area.

StinaTado is probably right. On hotpads.com I see a couple studios for $1,500 near NYU, but don't expect much from them.
