I am originally from Westchester, but a buddy of mine went to school in Binghampton, so I learned about them there when visiting. Liked 'em a lot, especially after a night of beer and partying ;-)

Lo and behold, my local supermarket in New Mexico sells a spiedie marinade (made in Syracuse, I think?). I like to have an "upstate NY spiediefest" backyard grillfest of my own a couple times a summer. There are at least a couple dozen people in Albuquerque who know what spiedies are now.
