I did file for unemployment in NY and I did try to claim from Mexico. I got the warning and I did as nervous and I did try next day with my phone using the vpn thinking I could get back to us immediately. But also because I was nervous I ask wrong questions in the questionnaire telling them that I’m out of the country. I’m new of this to finalize the clakm took me hundreds of calls because the lines are jammed.
I did give the the passport copy and the plane tickets. I did apologize saying I did a mistake and didn’t know and I was nervous because everything is happening with covid virus.
Is anyway I have any possibility to win this case?

To claim unemployment one needs to available locally to take suitable jobs. So telling them you were trying to claim unemployment benefits from outside the area is a red flag for them.
Looking for some quick advice, I recently had a free trial of a vpn which I didn't realize was on and which I halted my NY UI benefits. I sent them proof of my bank statement showing that I was in the states and vpn account info as well as an email where I requested to can cel the vpn. They've written me back and are requesting my passport. The problem is I have a global talent UK visa permit in my passport. There are no visit stamps however . I did have a visit there but not for the specific time in which the vpn was used. I'm wondering if I should send in my passport for quicker processing and to avoid appearing to withhold information or if they will see my UK visa and see a red flag, perhaps assuming that I was there.
Additionally, I was in CA during the time in question. I'm not sure that is allowed, but if I send them a plane ticket it would at least prove that I wasn't out of the country.

Were you looking for employment whilst in CA or on holiday? If the former, you are not entitled to receive unemployment benefits.
But many people game the system to get money.
