I love you, New York. The blood of my ancestors is in your soil. From my immigrant Irish West Point Foundry worker to my immigrant Italian Flatirons worker ancestor, their, and the blood in my veins, is in New York's soil. The blood, sweat, and tears of my ancestors is in New York.
I love you, New York. I love upstate New York where my Irish family immigrated to. I love NYC where my Italian ancestors, my Irish ancestors eventually migrated to, and I was born and raised. I love Long Island, my adopted home, where my children were born, raised, and still live.
I love the New York "attitude". I love how the state of New York cares about ALL it's citizens; poor, disabled, gay, minority, etc., etc. If you don't think this is so, do a little research, or try living in another state.
I am an old lady now. My end of life wish is that my blood too will join that of my ancestors and be mingled in the soil of the greatest state in this country.
