Hi all, I got a maintenance notice that says "Maintenance Filter". I actually took a picture:

What filter do I need to change? It's quite vague.

Thank you in advance!!

Looking at the picture, I would be willing to be it is the oil filter.

I'd give the dealer service department a call and ask them. It's something you can probably find out over the phone.

Looks like an oil filter to me. What dose your owners manual say?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I took a look at the owners manual, and it didn't say anything about a "Maintenance Filter" notification. I will give the local dealership a call and see exactly what's up.

If it's the oil filter, yeah it's ABOUT time to change the oil and whatnot. I'm at about 3,500 miles since last oil change, and I've gone to about 5,000 without that notice before. I got an oil change package at the dealership which was actually a really good deal, so they did the notification changes and whatnot, and maybe they forgot to reset that notification.

Anyway, I'll find out what it is and report back when I can

Sure it does. Section 2-20 of your manual tells you how to set Maintenance Notifications/Reminders for Oil, Filter, and Tires.

Well, it shows you how to set them, but I'm interested in exactly what it means and how it got that way because I sure didn't set that.

I got very busy at work today so I wasn't able to call the dealership. I'll call tomorrow and report back to everyone here.

Hi all, my apologies for not responding before.

My theory is that a mechanic set that notification - not that I actually needed another oil filter before my oil change.

I did, coincidentally did truly need a new air filter though.

Oil filter and either it was not changed or it was not reset correctly.
