I saw a bunch of kids calling an old lady in lynx all sorts of name..
Old lady complained to one of the girls that they were making a lot of noise.. That started a non stop 20 minutes of abuse of this old lady from 5 teens...
I am appalled by by the disrespect.. No common sense?
This reminds me of the kids in New York who were filmed bullying an elderly bus monitor some time ago. Interestingly enough, sympathetic people on the Internet have raised over $600,000 to give her the vacation of a lifetime or possibly even to retire.
But I have to say I agree with bs13690. Every generation complains about "kids these days." Terrible things were done by young people in years past as well. Don't forget back in the 1950s, when right here in Charlotte the kids of those days spat at and taunted Dorothy Counts, the young black girl who integrated the then all-white Harding High.
Adding on to my previous post, this is a picture of Dorothy Counts (one of the first black students who integrated Harding High in Charlotte, N.C.) on September 4, 1957, about fifty-five years ago. Teens were being disrespectful back then too, which is why I don't like it when people talk of "the good old days" when they were younger.

That involved racist hysteria. You can't compare incidents like that with general bullying, like the OP is talking about. Back during desegregation of schools, adults in New Orleans would line up in front of the elementary school to shout threats and spit at a 6-year old child, Ruby Dee.

I am sorry but I have to disagree you've made a very general statement and I don't believe it's true. it really depends upon the teenager.
