I expect most women to gossip, but it seems like now days men gossip, and create drama as much or even more than women do. I hope this is not a trend.

What do you guys/ladies think?

Really? You think just women gossip and create drama? I grew up with a father who was born in the 1930s, who tended to hang out with guys his age or older. I grew up around old hound-dog guys, and they gossiped and made drama like they were on a soap opera. You've had your head in a bucket.

But at least you seem to be growing out of your gender stereotypes.

People gossip - not all, but a lot do. Men and women. Neither gender does it more or less IMO. I've seen many women gossip and start drama and I've seen plenty of men gossip and start drama. Maybe you are just noticing it more now but it's always been there.

Pssh, the biggest gossip I know is my straight male friend. He knows everybody's business.

In my experience, men are fairly laid-back and just want to get along.

Women, however, want to compete and start drama.

JMHO

Men do seem to gossip and love drama a lot more than when I was young. And I think that it's in part due to advances in technology like digital photography, cameras in cellphones, and them being on male dominated message boards (cars and guns), where they feel the need to boast about their sexual exploits to other guys.

Of course, it doesn't help that young women have looser moral standards now with booty calls and FWB arrangements... so there is more for to men to gossip about.

Also social media like Myspace and Facebook make everyone's life a potential very public soap opera. And many young people love the attention that the dramas bring and then they feel like celebrities like Paris Hilton and the Kardasians.

Women are still much worse, but society's feminization of men certainly hasn't helped them in this (or any other) way.
