This happened once, more as a mistaken indentity..not quite what you are saying, but still a funny story...

I was on the elevator in a building or parking garage in Cincinnati, and this guy was talking to me like he knows me....but then we realize this was a case of mistaken identity...

..then he says for me not to take this the wrong way, but that I look just like this bouncer at a strip club over in Wilder KY (which is sort of the "sin city" for Cincinnati, just across the river a bit)...that I was the spitting image, could be his twin.

I just broke down laughing. The reason why is that Im a) gay, b) nonagressive/meek, c) not much muscle. d) what it says about him that he would know bouncers at strip clubs.

... back then i had a shaved head, beard and was a lot heavier, and am over 6' tall so perhaps could have passed as a bouncer, but I dont see myself as intimidating in any way!!! So funny to think that I gave that impression.

It goes for the workplace too.

I was between a rock and a hard place when I was in my patients room one night. The patient looked at me and asked if I believe in God, in front of the chaplain. I tried to be as respectful as possible with all points of view and I said that I just simply don't know what exists after we die but I have a hard time understanding how consciousness could exist after the brain no longer functions. The patient was persistent and told me that I must believe in God. I couldn't argue with a sick person so I just said that I hope heaven exists and left it at that. First impressions are very important and I always try to make a good and lasting one. Once you get to know me you'll discover a very eccentric crazy old lady exists under the professionalism.
