The guy I've wrote about that I've had a crush on at work (it's died down quite a bit, but I still kind of like him), has called me by a nickname that ONLY my friends call me. I have only told him once what my friends call me and that was a few weeks ago, and I am surprised he remembers. This morning, I was showing him something and he said "That's nice [my nickname]" it really caught me off guard to where I asked him "Did you just call me [my nickname]?" and he said yes and that he didn't mean to catch me off guard. He was laughing and I was smiling. Does this mean ANYTHING by any chance? Thanks! No this has never happened to me before, especially someone who I've had a crush on.

Could be any number of things. He may not have understood that this nickname is limited to your close friends, or he may have just heard part of what you told him about your nickname, or he may like you and want to get to know you better.

In your place, I wouldn't make too much of it. Early days yet.

Doesn't mean a thing. You told him your nickname so he used it.

It means he feels friendly toward you and pretty comfortable. Nothing else at this point. Don't read more into it.

Speaking of reading, go get the book "He's Just Not That Into You" immediately. Not the movie, the book.

Who knows? Maybe he likes you too. I'd take it up another notch. Maybe drop a hint that you'd like to go to lunch

Thanks, but I've read the book years ago.

Then you ought to know not to put too much stock in this situation.

Maybe it's time for a refresher course.

Nicknames; wait for a bit more advances before you get your hopes too high
Nicknames are also nice because they are funny and such
