So recently, I was talking with someone in a student club that I'm in and she told me that alot of others in the club says I'm "funny" when they talk about me. This was at a party hosted by our club. Basically, I'm very socially awkward. Now recently, I gradually begin to become more self aware of many of my bad habits, like stuttering, talking too loud, or when recently someone else also from the club told me I was dripping ice cream on the floor when we all went out to get food as a club. I'm learning to become more self aware of how I present myself in front of others. So when this girl tells me that other thinks I'm "funny", is she implying that people in the club are making fun of me behind my back?
You should respond like Joe Pesci did in Goodfellas to that LOL.
I think it's a compliment. Humor is usually positive and most like to be around it. Especially in turbulent times like these days where anxiety seems to dominate in a troubled society.
I think in this case it means you seem a little odd. It didn't sound bad, or she wouldn't have said that.
Maybe you are odd in a funny way that is endearing. I don't know. It didn't sound like a terrible thing. It sounds like you are accepted and you know who you are.
Do yourself a favor and quit reading so much into every little comment people make. You will make yourself crazy doing that.
