When you get together with acquaintances or closer friends, do you usually email them or text them later to say that you enjoyed seeing them? For example, do you email afterwards and tell them how nice it was to see them?

I usually do, and plenty of people I get together with do. Thus for people who I get together with and if I didn't hear anything more, I figure that they must not have enjoyed it.

I've had a few experiences recently where I got together with acquaintances (from the gym or from other things) for drinks or the like, and afterwards, I never heard from them again. They always emailed or otherwise responded quickly beforehand, so I'm thinking that I must have said or done something wrong when we got together. (I didn't email them after getting together either, though.)

Thanks.

It's not a good idea to assign meaning to people's actions, especially a "lack of action." You can't know what they are thinking.

I text afterward, usually the next morning, and say something like, "That was so fun, thanks for thinking of me ..." or "Had a great time; let's do it again ...."

Not everyone does that though, and sometimes I do forget. It happens.

I never do that. I would say it at the end of the night.

People I work with and go and watch UFC or NHL playoffs? I let them know as I leave "thanks for having me". Or a girl I have a coffee with the odd time I would text her a few days later and tell her I had a good time with her and feeling a little better (I got hardcore depression), I should probably let her know when we finish "Thanks I had a good time with you today" or something.
