Hi, we are an English family relocating from France to NC this summer because my husband is working in US and we want to keep our family unit of 5 (3 kids ages 8, 10 and 12) together and avoid him being away so much. We are considering NC and possibly Cary, Chapel Hill or Charlotte neighborhoods.

We are looking to rent a 4/5 bed property in a cul de sac or in an area where there will be families with children of similar ages and lots to do.

If anyone can give me advice on those areas, schools (elementary and middle) and the best place to go to find rental homes, that would be great. Our children are fully bilingual french/english and we would like our eldest to study the IB programme.

PS. We have a lovely black lab who will be coming with us, so an area with dog walks nearby would be great.

Hope you can help.

I would suggest that you start your search by looking into the IB Program and decide which school you would like your child to attend before you start looking into neighborhhods. Go to Wake County Public School System Magnet Programs and search the Schools tab for all grade levels. From there a Realtor can help you look at the neighborhoods that are assigned to that paticular school.

Good luck!

Jim

+1....find what you want and then look for a place near there. There are great places all over so finding a house is easy once you have selected the area that meets your needs.

Where will your husband's work be based? That would be a good place to start.
