We have a convention in Kansas City on the 15th of April, and we are arriving back in Raleigh from another trip on the 14th of April. In order to get to KC by 4pm on the 15th, what would be the fastest and cheapest way to get there? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can drive it in two days if you drive 10 hours a day. I drove it from Asheville and drove less than 500 miles a day the first day.

So you are trying to leave Raleigh on the 14th and get to KC on the 15th? You'll have to fly, unless you want to basically drive straight through. Its such an obvious answer I think I must be missing something.

Probably on Southwest Air. I think they're having a sale right now.

I'm near Winston-Salem, family is in KC. I always drive and take two days; three if I have a good window of time. You won't make it by car in one day unless you have a relay of drivers. Even then, 24 hours will be a close shave. You can open the throttle once past western KY, the land starts getting into that dreadful flat and open space, but you'll be slowed by road construction in Mt Vernon, IL (gawd, there is always construction in that stretch) and probably in intermittent stretches along I-64. St. Louis is a freaking nightmare to drive through; I always give myself extra time to take a back way around; there'll be a short slowdown at Columbia, then heading into KC is another cluster.

Getting there in one day? FLY
