Either way it will not work, the shifting demographics along with the out-of-date policies are a recipe for disaster. Most african americans are relatively religous (especially in the south) and extremely conservative on many social issues yet the GOP sees no desire to reach out to this community.

The GOP can't rig the system to stop the tidal wave and sensible moderates see the handwriting on the wall. Some of the old guard is living in the past or a time in america when these kind of tactics would fly....The Jesses and Stroms are dying off. The GOP will either evolve or dissolve but allowing the extreme right dish-out the marching orders isn't gonna appeal to the general public. Times have changed, people have changed.....

Maybe you should study a bit more on slavery in america because you truly have warped sense of history- somehow I don't think schoolin' was your forte. What is the government telling you to do? What is different now versus 1973? Other than technological advances, not much. Please eloborate....you can still get a big gulp, drink and drive, smoke weed, get any gun you so desire....hell, even porn is free on the internet. If anything, the government has become less restrictive. The only problem with anti-government zealots is when they actually cut government spending to the point of making certain programs ineffective, they blame the government. When joes butcher shop sales contaminated meat due to lack of USDA resources or toxic pollutants are found in drinking water due to EPA cutbacks...sure, it's the governments fault .

America is about money (capitalism), the NRA is controlled by the gun manufacturers who make money via gun sales. By all means keep believing these people care about the constitution and your well being...all they care about are stock prices, dividends and 401k plans. Buy all the guns and bullets you so desire, the gun manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank...

You must understand some in the conservative sect are so naive they would never believe that Joe the butcher would sell less than top notch meats if the USDA didn't exist. Because he's a good ol' boy and would never do that.
Mind you these same types buy their meat from Wal Mart because, in their not so humble opinion, Joe the butcher is scamming them since his prices are higher than at Wal Mart.

So I heard they are planning on reducing early voting sites to 1 per county. I mean this makes sense because I cannot think of any problems that there might be with having only one early voting site for all of Wake County.

Seriously why don't these folks just come out and say they don't want to have elections anymore because they like being in the GA and feel entitled to their seats.

I really don't get this the aged, weak, sick, and poor don't have any ID's.

That is BS and you guys know it. Regardless of what "side" you are on, when you take such a transparently political position, it ruins your credibility.

What if these people want to fly somewhere?
What if they want to go to hospital?
What if they want to cash a check?
What if they want to do about anything but vote?

I would be amazed if you can get on the welfare dole without some form of ID...well, maybe not, in reflection, the way that program is "run." But you should!

And how anyone can take the leap of faith that IDs = Exclusion is ridiculous. Of course RIDICULOUSNESS has become the norm in the US of the 21st century. How can being who you say you are be prejudicial.

The same NIMRODS who are claiming that requiring IDs to vote amounts to "jumping on the constitution" are in all likelihood jumping on the 2nd amendment with both of their Michael Jordans!

Hypocrites.

There are some on here that get it! Way to Go LLN !!!
Photo ID's are the norm today, resistance to providing one is evading proof of identity. Why would you not want to prove who you are?

What does legality have to do with anything? If the government really wanted to eradicate the dissemination and usage of weed, they would. The government isn't anymore restrictive than years past was my point, relishing in the great days gone by is simply a fantasy that never existed.

Please let me know which gun you will not be able to acquire in america even with the proposed "restrictive" gun laws?

Actually I think the boomerang effect is going to impact the GOP on this one, not the Micheal Jordan sneaker wearers but the Jed Clampetts and Goomer Pyles in the long run. When will some people really understand that there are significantly more white people on welfare, food stamps and federal aid than black people...media bias! People don't have IDs for a variety of reasons, who knows what life has in store for you. Anyway, the idea of voter fraud is a red herring, it doesn't exist because the very community you're accusing of voter fraud aren't running to the polls. Even if the ID becomes a requirement it'll be a blip on the radar, what next? Collar shirt, khakis and penny loafer requirement and no Micheal Jordans....lol.

Attempting to fix the deficiencies of the GOP through rigged policies is like putting a band aid on a 3rd degree burn due to the shifting demographic landscape. Nope, you gotta accept the reality of the situation, things are changing, either change or cease to exist....see the dinosaur.

This is so blatently about stopping Democrats from voting it isn't even funny. The vast majority of fraud occurs via mail in absentee ballot, but guess what you can get with no ID under the GOP plan...a mail in absentee ballot. Why is that I wonder? Could it be that in person voters trend more Democratic and absentee mail voters trend more Republican. I guess only Democratic leaning groups of voters will have to show ID then.

God forbid we disinfranchise a rightwinger this GOP legislature is going to need all the help they can get given the steaming pile of crap they have presented us with under the title of "legislation."
