Unfortunately the reasons & solutions for this are well beyond control of anyone in NC except for the members of congress elected from NC. When you vote for your representative state senator this fall, ask yourself, what have they done to clean up the finance industry. If you vote for your party, then you are voting for the status quo.

The US Justice dept. for example has absolutely refused to bring criminal charges against anyone in this industry since 2009 when the entire financial crisis started. This office is a headed by a White House cabinet position.

Most of NC's real GDP growth came from the growth of small business. Thank goodness this state is moving towards policies that help small business and not hurt it as has been the case in the past.

It's also distributed to extremely well off actors, film executives, and wall streeters (most of which who do not live in NC) associated with the film industry due to the 25% rebate they get from NC.

Don't forget that.

Unlike banking, NC can take action against this unfair redistribution of wealth.

I wasn't aware of a rising poverty rate in NC.

Latest info I found was 17.2% in 2012, which hasn't changed much since 1986 according to this article.

Source for what? You were you clear you didn't like what I said, but didn't offer anything to counter it, you were not real clear on what you are asking for.

I would say going from being the state with the 26th highest poverty rate to the 12th highest in a decade would be considered a rise in the poverty rate.

In North Carolina, things are worse. Eighteen percent, 1.7 million of us, live in poverty. Twenty percent have no health care coverage. We have the 12-highest poverty rate in the country – though only a decade ago we were 26th. A quarter of Tar Heel children live in poverty; 40 percent of our children of color. The top one-fifth of our households capture more income than the bottom 80 percent put together.

Indeed. The articles you linked were written before the current administration took control of the government and began reversing the socialist programs of the previous administration. Now that the GDP is rising, the poverty rate will fall.

Great job North Carolina
Let's see, you're telling me the 10th most populous state in the nation enjoyed the 9th fastest growth for a single quarter in 2013?!?

All during the most prosperous economy our nation has enjoyed since 2006?!? Well I don't know about you, but clearly all the credit here should go to McCrory and his teaparty geniuses.

lololololololololol. It's hard to even type that with a straight face.

I don't think any narratives are "spoiled", save yours.

I know I'm probably wasting my time asking this question, as you'll likely ignore it since there's no good answer, but here goes: What socialist programs are you talking about here?
