Saw an Ad this morning on WCNC put out by the Committee for Pat McCrory. It claims that taxes were lowered for a family of 4. Did I miss something, do they not know that all the fees they have imposed are taxes? Do they not know that he has caused a large rise in Sales taxes direct and indirect? Do they not know that his Tax cut(?) has caused Real Estate and property Taxes to rise?

Typical for the GOP believe the opposite of whatever they come up with.

I agree with everything you wrote, outside of the last sentence.

IMO, we get the same cr4p from both sides, not just the GOP.

But interesting you brought this up now, as I just recently saw the following, and thought about this being predicted right here on CD, back when they were discussing "lowering income taxes".

The tax system is generally revenue neutral, so if taxes are lowered from one source, either taxes or fees (some of which are mandatory in a practical sense) from another source end up being raised. The key difference between administrations and from one batch of legislators to another is how regressive or progressive the tax system is and who ends up getting taxed the most/least equitably.
