Hello! I was thinking of moving to Concord for a job but I wanted to if the area has any asian communities like Chinese. Coming from California I know it will be a different environment. Thanks!

For what it's worth, here are 2015 census estimates for Asian population:

California - 14.7%
North Carolina - 2.8%
Cabarrus County - 3.1%
Mecklenburg County - 5.7%

P.S. I've asked the Mod to move this to the Charlotte Metro sub-forum. You'll be more likely to get local, informed responses there.

Yes, should be Charlotte.

According to the City-Data page on Concord, the Asian population is 2.8%. But that doesn't mean they aren't tolerant. If you pull the drop-down menu on the first map out, you'll see that one of the first choices is "% of Asian" and that the census groups just outside of town to the Southwest seem to have the highest % of Asians.

Yes, the East coast in general will be a culture shock for West-Coasters regarding Asian anything, especially restaurants, grocery stores, etc. OTOH the Black population, and cultural influence, in the Southeast is much more prominent than in most parts of Calif.

I'm not sure if Indians count as Asian, but I see way more Indians than those who look to be Chinese, Japanese and other Asian nationalities in Concord. I rarely see any other nationalities of Asians and no. There are no Asian neighborhoods or communities in Concord. I'm not sure in Charlotte.
