Basic NC new business/tax questions (sales, community college, sales tax)

Hey guys,

I am thinking of starting a reselling business. It would be an online store only to start. Probably not selling much (if any) in NC.
Focusing on antiques and US made items.

I'd love to hear from someone who has done it just to make sure I'm going about this the right way.

I am relatively new to NC and this would be the first business I have started here.

I was just wondering what the basics I would need are.

I would just be a sole proprietorship to start. Do I need to register as a sole proprietorship with the county?
Would this be the same as a DBA?

Do I need to seperately get a sales tax ID or wholesale license? If so, how often do I need to file with NC? And do I need to file even if I'm not making any money yet?

Is there anything else that I'm missing?
