Hi
I´ve forgotten that my question before was adressed to mm34b. I saw that you know something about the area. But I´m also happy for all additional informations from other forum-members.
thanks american friend
Hi holt4fam,
danke für deine guten wünsche, du glaubst gar nicht wie schwer es nach dem 11. September geworden ist ein visum zu erhalten. But I´m trying to do everything (that´s legal) to get a visa but it´s very difficult.
Maybe we´ll see us in NC within the next two years.
Yours
american friend

Nearest cities: Carrboro, NC (3.1 miles ), Fearrington, NC (8.9 miles ), Hillsborough, NC (11.2 miles ).
I have a friend that was adopted by a German family and their last name was Fraenzel. When she and her sister got married her father is like, "I raised you two with a fine German name like Fraenzel and what do you to do? One of you married a Jones and the other a Smith." Absolutely the most stubborn man I have ever seen in my life. Once when they were evacuating the coast for a hurricane, he refused to leave. The authority that was going house to house to enforce the evacuation as much as they could told him that if he wasn't going to leave to put this toe tag on his big toe so if worse came to worse by him staying, they would know who he was. That would have been enough for me. I would have been asking which way was out. Not him. He calmly asked them which foot and toe did they want the tag on. And he didn't leave and he is still alive and kicking and over 90 years old. He and his wife finally moved to Greensboro although I am not sure why. The wife died in a car accident some years ago.
I was just looking for some family history on my last name which is Fraenzel. I live in Virginia. If anyone can tell me a little about the Fraenzel name or the family in the quote, i'd be most gracious. Thank you.
American Friend:
There is a small Tourist town in northern Georgia called Helen. When you make it here to the U.S. you must check out this town. It is a small piece of Germany. All of the buildings resemble what you would find in old world Germany. The food is good, the people are friendly and the beer is cold. Hopefully I'm not saying this to far in advance but, Welcome.

Hello Friend,
Welcome to the forum. Maybe you can come to Hickory sometime and eat some of that good food that hapaleeretired is talking about. There are many folk's here in North Carolina that have German ancestor's. Do you know what size city you are looking for? Hope you will be able to come to the USA soon.
Best Wishes and once again WELCOME TO THE FORUM. You should recieve lot's of helpful information from this site.
