My husband is the construction field here in Oak Island. There a couple things because the home bubble has burst construction has slowed down and prices on housing has gone down. Also the pay for employees are extremly cheap here. There are alot of contractors here in this area. You might want to consider else where in NC.

Construction as I see it has not slowed in our area..Cary..Raleigh..however there are more contractors here now and they are all competing for the business. I talked to my structural engineer yesterday and he said where there used to be one or two people showing up to bid a project there are now 10! I own a real estate firm here..and my husband works for a large genreal contractor ..we are both busy!
