All vehicles look the same today - just another snow mound. Anybody have the actual snowfall total? I think we have about 20 inches - but that is a guess. I have a snow plow and I was having a hard time; I should have put more weight in the back. I have been outside most of the day either shoveling or pulling snow off our roof with a roof rake. We are washing and drying our clothes for the third time and I still have other projects I would like to take care of - but it might wait for tomorrow.

So; how did the rest of you make out? Can we blame this mess on the groundhog?

Got about 18" in Shawnee, by my measurement. I understand there is an "official" way to measure, but I just stick a tape measure into virgin snow.

I also just got back in from roof raking. Doesn't seem like strenuous work until you do it!

I gave it a go with my John Deere GT262, 42" plow this morning. Had to give up and call a plow guy, whom I am waiting for right now. Too wet and heavy, and I didn't get out there early enough to tackle it with the plow.

Last year when we got that one 18" storm, the snow was a lot lighter and it hit in mid-morning on a Saturday so I was able to handle it myself.

And I never trusted that rodent from Punxsutawney!

Our snow was about my kneecap - but I have not measured my kneecap. I used to have a Gravely with a 42 inch plow and it did a pretty good job - but it would not work on this snow unless I was on it every hour. The Gravely got too old to maintain and I gave it to our maintenance man at work - who then recently died in that motorcycle accident in Mt. Pocono.

I don't tackle the roof raking to remove all snow; just the two to four feet over the unheated soffit's. That is usually enough to prevent water backup. Of course, if you are removing the snow because of the weight; then you have to pull off considerably more. While roof raking is hard; shoveling on the roof is even harder and more dangerous on ice.

You had to say that little rodent's name! If he gets in my backyard it won't be pretty! He never heard that saying about: If you don't have something nice to say; don't say anything at all! I want predictions that tell me winter is over!

Hubby had about 33 inches in Lake Ariel.

Both of the snow blowers are with me in Pittsburgh where we had no snow!!

Our community had to get in extra help to deal with it.

Wow! That one takes the cake. I haven't seen anything like that in quite a while.

I just measured my kneecap. Yup, unofficially; we had about 20" here. Lake Ariel loves now; I think they advertise (dump on us)? Gouldsboro should come in a close second or maybe even beat them out.

As far as your snow throwers: Murphy's Law! Never have the right equipment in the right place at the right time!

My husband found his car today about noon. Still trying to dig out. The roads up by hamlin are a mess.

I'm glad he found his and not somebody else's car. That would take the cake; digging forever to find out it was the wrong car! I have to wonder if anybody ever did that? Today most of us can hit the 'Panic button' and see which snow drift is beeping at us!

Two times in our lives my wife and I hand dug out our four hundred foot driveway. Both times we had a five foot drift over our 18% grade, three hundred foot long, downhill driveway section - the snow loves to drift right there. One time I actually hired a dozer to 'plow' us out.

At least tomorrow they are calling for temperatures above freezing and Friday in the forties. Spring will get here sooner or later - I hope it is sooner!

oh I can just imagine the cursing if he dug out someone else car. No work for him for the past three nights. Our community roads have not been cleared so only suv's can get down the road.
Next year he can have my suv and he will also have a snow blower!!
