Try to give 'thecoalman' (http://www.city-data.com/forum/membe...an-233677.html) a private message. He might respond; he loves coal.

PS Welcome to the forum. And we all made mistakes when we started; do not get discouraged; I still make plenty. Hang around and you'll get better!

If thecoalman spots your post he might post on his own. We also have another member that loves to take photos; but they have not been as active lately.

Yes. I'm sorry about not including Wilkes Barre in my post.

I don't have a picture, but hey, someone on C-D knows which park you mean. I only went there a couple of times when I was quite young.

Do you remember Sans Souci? How about the Nay Aug Park zoo?

Here is a story about the remake of the Nay Aug Park Zoo (now used for for a cat shelter): https://wnep.com/2017/05/10/nay-aug-...most-complete/. Here is one link I found of very old pictures of the San Souci Park: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/211950726186102259/.

I was in Company 'C' of the 365th Engineers that was located close to the Nay Aug Park Zoo when it use to be a Zoo.

I went there in the 1960s. My father's employer held their annual company picnic there in August. They rented pavilions, catered food, tapped beer and root beer, and the kids got a wristband to ride all of the park rides all day. Dad spent a few dollars on cotton candy and games of chance.
