LIHEAP - Low Income Home Energy Assistance Plan program has been expanded to include nearly 80,000 more people this year in PA.

LIHEAP will help pay the heating bills of qualified PA residents. A family of four with an annual income of around 44,000 can qualify for assistance.

Check it out here, and pass this on to people you think may benefit. I'm thinking this could really benefit seniors who are on limited incomes.

I've been trying to research this the last few days. Do retired senior citizens qualify for this or any other heat assistance program? I know in NY we had the Stars program that many people were able to take advantage of, but here there doesnt seem to be anything comprable.

I don't know if Seniors qualify or not; I guess someone would have to contact their local assistance office for more info. I just wanted to throw this out there; I had known about this program until today when I got an email from Representative Pfiefer.

I would hope that it would be in place for seniors; if anyone needs the assistance, they do.

Senior citizens can qualify, it depends on your income and dependents so they may not receive as much as a family.

As suggested above call your local County Assistance Office.
