I have a tree branch that is extending into my backyard property line that I would like to cut down. This very large branch is being proppped up above my rear fench by a 2x4 stud but I am afraid it can damage my fence. The main body of the tree originates from a public Fairfax County street. My question is can I get the city to trim this large branch off without me putting in the money.

Any help would be great.

If the tree is on a public street, sounds like this might be a question for VDOT.

Check with city officials about having them do the work. If they will not, then you are within your rights to have the limb removed for the safety of your property. mod cut:

I have 6 dead branches on a tall tree. A few have already fallen on my deck. What should it cost to have them cut down (no removal necessary)?
