Hi,

Yes it is me again. So I remembered something. For questions that are child-related, there is another board I can recommend. There is a website called www.babycenter.com; (broken link) they have community boards in all different categories similar to this website - in addition to boards by topic, they have regional-state boards. Here is the Virginia board and immediately there is a thread about pediatricians in Centreville and Fairfax:

Smile Pediatrician recommendation

I have 3 children and have used Sleepy Hollow Pediatriacs (now part of Capital Pediatrics, I think) since the birth of my first child 10 years ago. She had some health issues and they were outstanding. They are located in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church and I believe they are worth the drive for me from McLean. I know they have privileges at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Their number is 703-534-1000. Good luck.

Default Pediatrics

My Mom, who was a NICU nurse for a million years, told me to call the local hospitals and ask the nurses there. We've lived in several different places and it's always worked well for me. Call the pediatric dept. of INOVA Fairfax or Fair Oaks Hosp. and explain that you're new in the area and could they give you several recommendations. Don't call during shift change (between 6-8) they could get grumpy. Nurses work closely with the docs and know who's hot and who's not.

Murphy and Statts in Burke is an outstanding and caring practice. I know many moms who love them!

Default Recommendation

The practice I mentioned, Sleepy Hollow Pediatrics, was recommended to me by a good friend who is a Neonatologist at INOVA Fairfax. It's the practice that she and other doctors and nurses she knows use for their own children...that's a pretty solid recommendation!
