Just made it into DC from Woodbridge. Not one problem. Probably had a 1/4 inch dusting of snow and that's it. It seemed less icy this morning than last night, when at least 3 of my neighbors fell on their driveways.

Sounds like the opposite order for tonight. A little bit of snow and then some icing.

I didn't want to start yet another thread - currently: sleet - hoping it won't be icing over in the a.m., remains to be seen. Would have preferred a bit of snow, THEN the icing.

Currently snowing in Chantilly. I think things might be a bit rough out here in the AM, unless we have a changeover to totally rain...

My weather thing is saying freezing rain, not actually sure of the diff. - I agree, things will be rough in the am and then some maybe, depends on the temps. tomorrow.

Edit to say: I now am hearing it, which I thought was sleet?

Update, now its sleeting. Flamingo - "sleet" is ice pellets that remain ice pellets as they fall. Freezing rain is, well, rain that freezes once it hits the ground.

Okay, that's what I thought - the little balls were sleet, the stuff that turns to ice, freezing rain, now my weather thing says light snow - haven't seen that, LOL

Oh gee, that would really be, um, awful. I hope the schools don't delay in the morning...that would just be...too bad...
