Is there anyone here who can tell me about MOMS (Moms Organic Market)? Specifically, about their meat and produce quality and breadth of selection and their pricing. Given the price of gas, I don't want to spend 30min driving there just to find out it isn't what I was looking for.

Which MOM? I've only been to the one in College Park, MD. The produce there was pretty 'meh' (which is about par for the course for the DC area.. even the Whole Foods around here have worse produce than you'd expect at a Whole Foods elsewhere in the country). Unfortunately, I don't recall how the College Park MOM's pricing was - possibly less than Yes! Organics and Healthway Natural Foods (two chains around here), but they're both (especially the latter) fairly high.

Default yeah

I've been to the one in Alexandria. It's a small store and small produce selection which was disappointing. I don't eat meat so can't help you there. The prices were pretty similar to Whole Foods imo on most products. I was disappointed in the lack of variety of foods but maybe you should make one trip and check it out?

I shop at the MOMs in Alexandria. My favorite thing part is the bulk spice, bean, and grain section. I've found their prices on packaged natural foods to be competitive. I like the produce section -- but is it worth 30 minutes drive? Not sure, depends on what your other options are and what you're looking for. Like the last poster, I do not eat meat. I know that MOMs does have a small meat section but they do not have a butcher counter if that is what your looking for.
