Hi. I am looking for a condo or apartment to rent in Northern Virginia. I need it to be ground level and have a patio that opens to a grassy area for my pets. Does anyone know of any apartment/ condo complexes that would have that? I haven't decided what part of Northern Virginia I am moving to yet so any suggestions will help. Thanks!

Almost any garden complex meets your description for a ground level unit, and there's tons of them around the region. The trick is to find one for rent. If it were me, I'd narrow down the areas to live of my choice based on commute time and other factors important to me. Then I'd get out there and scout developments in those areas that meet my initial "look" test and then talk to the rental offices. Also, Craig's List can be a good resource.

Are you sure it is just not better to walk down a flight of stairs to walk your pets.

Concrete slab floors, even with carpet, are going to be very cold in winter, and have no give vs. wood floors on higher level.

I agree.. I love being on top level, no neighbor above me, high ceilings (I have a loft in my condo!), and security (its nice to be able to leave the windows or slideing glass door open on warm nights or when Im gone.)... I looked at a condo on the ground floor and it was concrete slab, it didnt have the comfortable feel to it like the one I ended up with does.
