The great thing about an idiosyncracy like that is you can't resist repeating it, mimicking it, and then repeating it some more. So, can we get her to make an announcement for the metro elevators?
Can you imagine hearing "Shtay to the right on the eshcalators!" Everybody would be saying it, who could resist repeating it!
If enough people say it, maybe some of them would actually do it.

This is the most hilarious thread i think i have ever seen! Julia Child is just a funny lady, i remeber watching her cooking show and her voice was montoned and nasally! My sister and I just used to love watching her, and she would ALWAYS make us laugh! To the point when i saw her name on this post i cracked up laughing at work and i HAVE to ride this train to see if what you say is true, if so i may be laughing like mad and people will be looking at me like wth....Rest in peace Julia Child's
