I'm just wondering if it's as bad as you hear that most chain dentists are? Or are they really good (esp with kids)?

My friend's husband is a dentist with that group working out of the Fredericksburg office. He is wonderful if you want to give him a try. He has children of his own and I think he would be great with them. His name is Dr. Chris Dail.

The trouble with chains (or outfits like Kaiser) is you no sooner find a doctor/dentist you like....and they're gone. Obviously, a doctor or dentist will never make any money "workin' for the man", so most of them are just passing through...and I'd worry about the ones that stay! LOL

I see you are in Fredericksburg - also please stay away from Smile Center, Dr. Cathy Butterworth. Both my husband and I had bad experiences there... She did a crown prep on a tooth that my husband specifically told her NOT to touch (and of course then we had to pay for it). Plus, we both found her to be on the rough side... too much in a hurry. The dental assistant who worked on me one of the times I was there had alcohol on her breath. For real.

I've been very happy with the location off of 17 in South Stafford/Fredericksburg. My kids go somewhere else though.

I am trying to find out the same thing - and if I do, I will let you know ON THIS BLOG. I just sent an e-mail to some good friends of mine that have lived in the Fredericksburg area for many years and I know that they will have a couple of recommendations. Will post it here when they get back to me. Stay away from the Smile Center as well - I went there first - they wanted to give me the Hollywood Smile for $11,000 dollars. I am 59, could care less about a phony Hollywood Smile, just want healthy teeth at affordable prices! Niebauer and the Smile Center are just both in it for the money - not quality dental care. Oh, I just got off the phone with Niebauer, they are going to refund my $65 for doing nothing, but I had to promise never to be a patient at their dental practice again! NO PROBLEM FOR ME ON THAT ONE!

Ridiculous! Very pushy, tried to get me to commit that day and the office manager called me 3 times to follow up because she was "so concerned" .... LOL... right... I found someone else and am in the process of getting 2 implants, not the 4 that they insisted I needed. Plus I think their prices are on the high side...
