I'm back on the hunt for the right church for my family.

We attended Fairfax Community Church for a while and really enjoyed the services. Great music, good sermons about real-life stuff, very contemporary and updated format, and a great kids program.

However, during a service it came to our attention that while they love and do welcome homosexuals to their church, they see homosexuality as a problem and feel it is against God's word.

That is a deal-breaker for us. Our family just cannot support an organization that has this as a core belief.

Any suggestions on a church in Northern Virginia that has a similar-type service (good (rock-band type) music, very contemporary, casual), but that has a more progressive attitude?

(I live in Centreville, so travelling into the city isn't feasible.)

Hmm, good question.

The UUs may not offer enough rock band/spectacle type stuff. I don't know, though.

Different Episcopal churches will have a different level of dressiness and incense/high churchiness during services. Call the parish closest to you and ask -- St. John's, 703/803-7500, or call the diocese itself at 800/DIO-CESE.
