I participated in the walkathon today.
Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Program: Home

This is my first experience

I started the day thinking about too many things.
--Will I able to walk at least one block?
--Will I faint
--If I finish, will I end up on a stretcher
--Are my legs going to be cold-dead by evening or night

Oh my gosh..I have no idea what all I was thinking...

Other than me over thinking and fantasizing calamities (it is just ME), at the end nothing of that sort happened.

My overall walk distance is 4.5 miles (80 mins) (from parking to site and back)

I hope my walk contributed at least a cent to the cause

I was just wondering if any of CD'rs participated today

You had a great day for it. Glad it went well. I didn't walk though. I didn't know they were having a walk-a-thon. In addition to organizing a walk, I hope they are also trying to figure out a way to pay back the gov't the billions they owe. They just asked for an addtional $7.8 billion.

It's off-topic, but since you are the OP, there is nothing interesting about it at all. The government has already put a 100% backup behind all outstanding GSE guarantys. The only questions are over how many claims of default there will be against the underlying securities, and of those, how many the GSE's will be able to pay off themselves. The government picks up any shortfall until there isn't one anymore.
