My wife and I are new to the area and we are looking for a gym that offers Yoga and Pilates classes, as well as a pool for lap swimming. We were members of LA Fitness down south, but now we live in Fair Oaks and there are none anywhere nearby.

Would anyone be able to recommend anything?

Wow, thanks. Didn't know about that. It's the old Circuit City Store. I wonder how big the pool is as they went into a pre existing building. I was just going to say that Fair Oaks is sort of stuck between the county rec centers of Oakmar and Cub Run, or else Lifetime in Centreville.

The prices are great too for single day, but does anyone know if they offer different rates for Fairfax County employees?

I thought there was a discount for their membership but not for classes. At least as a school employee that's my understanding so it probably would be the same for county employees. Also, if you are a county employee there is a fitness center at the governmental center. No pool, can't find the link about it but they do have a small studio in the basement.

Wow, naturally they wait until I move out of Fairfax to open a decent gym! I was always wishing for something better than the WSC which was too cheap to keep offering Les Mills classes.

Actually, you can get a very good deal at XSport fitness if you are paying for the whole year in advance.
You will get to around $35 per month per person.

After looking at the Rec center, I noticed you have to register for all of these classes and such.
Is there a deadline to register?
Could you "try out" a class or just pay for the ones you go to if you can't make all of them?
