I drive this route daily from 267 to Arlington. This exact section from the 267 merge to exit 71 sucks every single time!!!!!!! I really hope the silver line relieves some of this traffic but that's wishful thinking?

Haven't you heard? The silver line is like the next version of Windows, it solves everything!

Drove out to Fairfax and back today on 66. One worry I have is that when they finally finish the HOT lanes project, traffic is going to flow better on 66 eastbound and that will actually back things up more at 267/66. The best traffic mornings are the ones where I hear WTOP talking about a mess on 66 eastbound out at Nutley or the Beltway.

It should, especially when you consider how high gas prices will be by then and how much the tolls will cost on the Dulles Toll Road. If it doesn't, then the silver line will be a huge failure and waste of money.
