Hello! My fiance and I have visited Shenandoah National Park twice and when we got engaged, decided it would be the perfect place for our ceremony. We are currently looking for an officiant. We both come from Christian homes and its important that the person who marries us is a pastor/preacher active in the Christian community. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so very much!

Who's the pastor at your church? Usually if you offer the church a donation and cover their travel fees, they'd be happy to go wherever the ceremony is. Seems that would be a lot more meaningful than a random officiant.

We did consider my parents pastor. However, we are on a limited budget and unfortunatly, paying travel expenses isnt an option.

Shenandoah's kinda far from DC, so anyone you hire from the DC area might actually charge you a travel fee as well. Although it may not be as much as your parents' pastor would charge -- are your parents far away?

I'd first talk with your parents' pastor (assuming (s)he's not local) to find out if (s)he has any connections in this area.

If that's not an option, then talk with the site coordinator at the park to find out who they recommend. It's probably a question they've answered before.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
