Hi! I am moving to DC from Arizona and I will be working in Waldorf MD. I was interested in finding an apartment in Alexandria but was curious about how long the commute would be. Also if anyone has any good apartment suggestions in Alexandria let me know!
Thanks!

Is there any reason you are trying to live in Alexandria instead of living in Waldorf?

I know a guy that commutes from Waldorf to Falls Church...and it's pretty rough. But it should get better when the Wilson Bridge project is completed.

Whatever you do, STAY OUT of P.G. county!

I concur with the last message-i grew up in PG county as a kid and it was bad then, it has not gotten any better, do not move there. Some areas of Charles County where Waldorf is are not too bad, but if the Alexadria option does not work out-you might try Calvert County and commute from there. Do not do Prince Georges county-you will regret it.

A friend of mine used to live in Alexandria/work in Southern MD. It took her about 40 minutes. It's kind of a "reverse" commute-- most people are going from the Waldorf area into DC, and you're doing the other way around-- so you should be fine, traffic-wise.
