We finally made our move to crown point from Illinois. Absolutely love it here but it's hard getting settled. I'm looking for the best doctors in the area and am not getting any good recommendations. I'm wanting to keep all our family doctors back in Illinois as we have had them for many many years but would like to find some good doctors locally , ya just never know when your going to need a doctor haste for us or the kids especially. Can anyone recommend good practices and Drs in the area? I'm just not finding any group or Doctor highly recommended here and hospital ratings are scary. Please advise if you can give me some ideas from experience. Thank you

I have been happy with the Community Hospital system in Munster. This coming from using Northwestern in downtown Chicago. Not sure if that is too far of a drive for you but Community is well-rated.
One thing I found after moving here is that many of the good/recommended doctors have a 2 month wait for a new patient visit, so you need to get an appointment before it becomes urgent. I think the best thing to do is ask neighbors/new friends as you meet them as they will know the specific local market even better. Hope this is helpful

I agree that Community is a good hospital. I always stay away from those darn Franciscans! (Not the whole religious order, just the healthcare group and their hospitals

Thanks so much for your opinions. I will look into community. Seeing tons of francians here and not hearing great things. I just want a good family dr. Love ours back in Illinois had them for over 20 but far drive for anything urgent. I will ask around , thanks again
