Is driving still the best way to get from MC to the O'Hare airport? Or is there a way to take a train or another public transportation option such as a bus?

You could take the South Shore Line to the loop and then transfer to take the Blue Line up to Ohare.

Might take a little longer than driving but traffic wont affect you.

A very good option as long as you don't have much luggage. Get off at the Van Buren/Jackson stop. Walk to Dearborn to board the Blue line.
Another option is to ride the Amtrak to Union Station, transfer there to North Central service train to OHare. This option is trickier since a lot fewer trains operate on these lines.
