I know this is the Ocala Forum but there was a place called Brooksville Florida that really had caught my eye and someone had mentioned Ocala was perhaps an hour from it? Anyways I was curious about jobs and pay down in Florida since Florida never seemed to known for high salaries. Here are my skillsets:

1. Associate Applied Science, Electronics and Computer Technology.
2. ASE Certified Automotive Technician.
3. US Army Veteran, MOS 52C, Utility Equipment Repair.

I currently make 25 dollars an hour as a technician, could you make that in Florida?

I've researched Brooksville and it would seem that it would be my cup of tea, I think the place is gorgeous. I would be moving from Virginia which is also gorgeous but winters here can include snow and lows of 12, all though not often, it does happen.

Anyways thanks for your time and I think parts of Florida are gorgeous, I'm just concerned about jobs and salary expectations.

Sorry, Steven, I replied to you in another thread. I actually lived in Brooksville in the early 70's for a few years. Not much has changed except that the remnants of the housing bust still override everything and metal has replaced Kool Seal as the roofing material of choice.

As I said in the other reply, you would be hard pressed to make $20. an hour doing anything legal and not working for the government. It's not you. Hernando is an economically challenged county.

Ask around on the Tampa Bay forum. They usually field the Hernando County questions.

Yes...as Dax13 said....you may need to head towards bigger cities to get a solid 20/hr. Orlando, Tampa areas...?? I live in Floral City about 15 minutes north of Brooksville. I work out of my home with a home business so it is not a problem for me. Brooksville seems nice and with your training, there probably be jobs in those fields if you are persistent....pick up the phone and network Good luck and welcome to warmer weather.
